A new sushi bar, named Sora, has opened its doors in Tribeca. The restaurant offers a single omakase-only menu, designed by chef Hiroshi Tanaka, who previously worked in Tokyo and New York.

The dining room seats 12 guests and features a minimalist design. The menu changes daily based on the availability of seasonal fish. Guests are served a curated sequence of nigiri, sashimi, and small bites.

Sora’s approach emphasizes traditional sushi techniques. The chef prepares each piece in front of diners, allowing for interaction and questions. The restaurant neither offers a la carte dishes nor substitutes.

The new spot joins a growing number of omakase-only sushi bars in Manhattan. It aims to attract diners seeking an intimate and focused culinary experience.

Reservations are required and can be made through the restaurant’s website. Sora is located on Franklin Street and is open Tuesday through Sunday for dinner service.
